This study investigated rates and patterns of participation in a variety of political, social, occupational, religious, and other activities. Researchers used probability sampling with quotas to draw a sample of adults living in Indianapolis and its surrounding suburbs and interviewed 750 respondents. Survey questions covered home ownership; residential mobility; job satisfaction; church preference; voluntary association membership; family activity; frequency of interactions with neighbors, kin, and friends; political and voting preferences and activities; and protest attitudes and racial prejudice.
