Study Description
This study explored school desegregation issues and changes from 1970 to 1990. Data from 1591 school districts from 15 cities in the United States were collected using the following sources: 1) The School District Data Book, Special Extract (1990 Census); 2) Office for Civil Rights Elementary and Secondary Civil Rights Survey (1980); 3) STF3F 1980 Census; 4) Common core of Data (1990); 5) Office for Civil Rights elementary and Secondary Civil Rights Survey (1990); 6) The Taeuber-Wilson School District Universe Data Set, from the 5th count of the 1970 Census, the 1970 OCR data, and the Rand School Desegregation Data; 7) The "Central City" File, compiled by David James; and 8) The Public School Financial Data Files (1980 and 1990).
